Legends of Tomorrow will return for a third season on The CW in the fall. When will it start?

Season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow solidified its spot in the 2016-17 TV season. This saw entertaining and silly moments of time travel, cast changes, a group of familiar villains try to take down the Legends and more. That will lead into season 3.

To close season 2, the Legends successfully fended off the Legion of Doom — Eobard Thawne, Damien Darhk, and Malcolm Merlyn. They eyed the Sphere of Destiny to rewrite time, mostly due to Thawne’s desire to save his own life, after the events of season 1 of The Flash. This had Eobard’s ancestor, Eddie, commit suicide in the dramatic season finale.

After the defeat of the Legion of Doom, the Legends traveled to Los Angeles, CA in 2017. Upon arrival, they saw dinosaurs roaming the city. Obviously, something isn’t right, as it’s a time aberration.

More from TV

The season 3 premiere of Legends of Tomorrow should pick up on the change to present-day Los Angeles, and how they can fix the problem (or problems). How likely is Ray Palmer at fault, as he had the most interaction with these creatures in season 2’s travels?

As for the rest of the Legends, they’ll receive a new team member. Tala Ashe was cast as Zari Adrianna Tomaz. Her character is a Muslim-American from the year 2030, so look for Legends of Tomorrow to venture to the future in short order. She will join Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), Nate Heywood (Nick Zano), Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Amaya Jiwe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh), and Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) on the Waverider.
