You have to give Lucifer credit for trying. The poor guy has been trying to come clean to Chloe about his real identity and he’s thwarted at every turn. How does our handsome Devil move forward?
Here’s a synopsis of Lucifer season 3 episode 2, “The One with the Baby Carrot”:
“Lucifer removes his wings; Linda worries that Lucifer is neglecting his own well-being; Lucifer and Chloe must put their differences aside to solve a case that Lucifer has taken a sudden interest in; Detective Pierce’s past is revealed.”

The problem with Lucifer’s attempts to come clean with Chloe is that she is starting to get really frustrated with him. She doesn’t believe him and she thinks he’s mocking her when he says he has something to tell her and then can’t tell her anything. This doesn’t with well with Chloe, who was hoping she would finally get the truth from him.
