Marvel’s Runaways will add to the collection of comic book-inspired shows that are already on television. Let’s look at the first trailer for this program.

Marvel’s Runaways is the latest TV show to be created by Marvel Studios. It focuses on six teenagers — Alex Wilder, Nico Minoru, Karolina Dean, Gert Yorkes, Chase Stein and Molly Hernandez — that unite against their parents, The Pride.

This will be the first Marvel original series to air on Hulu. Netflix hosts an abundance of Marvel shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The DefendersThe Punisher is next, with an expected premiere this fall. So another streaming service is receiving the opportunity at hosting one of the hottest brands for movies and television, and should create a way to pull more viewers toward Hulu.

How about a first look at the action of Marvel’s Runaways? The show’s first trailer was recently released by Hulu and can be seen below:

The first footage of this Hulu show looks like the latest original programming to potentially provide a spark, following the success of The Handmaid’s Tale. If so, the next great comic book show could be on our hands.

Why did Runaways land on Hulu, anyway? In an interview with Polygon (h/t Syfy.com), Marvel’s Jeph Loeb said this streaming service “feels like the right place at the right time” for this show’s placement. He also compared Hulu to a young Netflix, when Marvel first brought their television shows to a streaming platform.
