After Aquaman Week and Flash Week, we get a combined Wonder Woman and Cyborg Week ahead of Justice League’s November 17 premiere.
There are just about three weeks before the highly anticipated premiere of Justice League and over the past few weeks Warner Bros has been featuring the members of the League on their social media platforms. After the first two weeks we have seen two stars featured, but Week 3 is a bit of a surprise. Aquaman Week. The Flash Week. Now we have a shared Wonder Woman and Cyborg Week and I have to wonder why they have to share a week. Aren’t there enough weeks ahead of the premiere?
Wonder Woman’s standalone film was a massive hit over the summer and thanks to the movie’s success Diana Prince doesn’t need much of an introduction. Cyborg (played by Ray Fisher) is not as well-known as the rest of the Justice League, so it’s interesting that Vic Stone doesn’t have a whole week to himself.
The natural question that follows is whether or not Wonder Woman sharing a week with Cyborg is an attempt to bring more attention to Cyborg. Flattering (to Wonder Woman), yes, but unfair in the end to both characters. If we can assume Batman and Superman will have their own weeks leading up to November 17, then it’s not fair that these two had to share a week.

Interestingly Cyborg is scheduled to be featured in his own standalone movie slated for a 2020 release. While he’s not as big in the DCEU (yet), Cyborg features heavily in the animated Teen Titans, where he has been voiced by The Walking Dead’s Khary Payton. So why not give him his own week?

Wonder Woman and Cyborg are members of the Justice League and they both deserve a chance to shine ahead of the November 17 opening. Let’s hope we continue to see more of them ahead of the premiere.
