2. Daredevil

Okay, I know, I know. Many people I have talked to have said that Daredevil, especially the first season, was the absolute best out of the Marvel Netflix series. However, I can’t go there just yet. In all honesty, the second season dragged things down a bit and the first season suffered a similar fate as Luke Cage.

Matt’s struggle with his double life is fascinating, especially considering none of the other heroes have that whole secret identity thing going on. The balance act creates real tension for his personal life’s storyline and keeps it relevant.

The actor who portrays Daredevil, Charlie Cox, is easily the best lead actor for the TV shows in the MCU, although Clark Gregg is right there. He is just the right amount of sad, mad, reserved, loud, and more for the complex character of Matt Murdock.

He also had a solid supporting cast with the two main players being Foggy Nelson and Karen Page. Perhaps out of all of the Netflix shows, this heroes’ decisions and actions create the most tension with those closest to him and the show takes it very far to show this.

But, we have to take a moment to talk about Wilson Fisk. The Kingpin is played by Vincent D’Onofrio and is absolutely incredible. The viewers are immediately sold on him as like…not a villain. Just an antagonist. You sympathized with him in many areas, including his love life. But, he knows he is what he is and will do anything for his city. Even when things don’t go as planned, he’s still very much in control and always makes a way out for himself as you saw in season two.

1. Jessica Jones

She’s my favorite lead out of Netflix and really out of all of the shows. She’s such a complex character with such strong cynical and sarcastic approaches to the world around her. Jessica is a recovering superhero who has decided to settle into being a detective.

But, the show hinges on a horrific, fascinating, scary, intense game of cat and mouse between her and Killgrave. Killgrave is able to control the minds of others through a drug (different than in the comics as he secretes pheromones).

Out of all of the shows on this list, this is the closest to horror. The villain is awesome. The hero is superb. There are a lot of great pieces from the supporting cast too, including Luke Cage. His performance made Marvel decide to launch his show earlier than expected.

I would love to go into the details of this show but I said no spoilers.
