Supernatural brought back a familiar face and introduced the first new character in the spinoff Wayward Sisters in episode 3 of season 13.

Supernatural fans got the first look at one of the new characters that will make up Sheriff Jody Mills’ group of Wayward Sisters on the Supernatural spinoff tonight. Clark Backo joined the Supernatural universe as Patience Turner, the granddaughter of Missouri Mosley.

Missouri Mosley, who the Winchesters haven’t seen since season 1, called the boys after a wraith killed one of her closest friends. Missouri had a vision that the wraith was targeting psychics and saw that he would attack her granddaughter, who also has psychic gifts.

Sam called Jody to go help Missouri because he felt that he and Dean needed to stay in the bunker with Jack. Dean disagreed, so he went to help Jody. Missouri saw that the wraith would kill her. So she sent Dean and Jody to her son and granddaughter to protect them.

John, Missouri’s son, had cut Missouri out of his life and his daughter’s life after Patience’s mother died. So Patience had no idea that she had psychic gifts or that her grandmother was a powerful psychic. Unfortunately she didn’t learn the truth until after Missouri was dead.

Patience Learns About Monsters

When the wraith attacked Patience she reacted like a fighter and managed to hurt the wraith and get away. But the wraith kidnapped her and held her captive. Jody, Dean and John found her but Patience had a vision of the wraith killing them. When her vision started to come true she was able to warn each one and save their lives.

After she is safe her father tells her to forget about her psychic gifts and ignore them. But, all Supernatural fans know that will never work. Now that she is on monster radar she’s always going to be at risk unless she accepts her gifts and learns to use them.

Dean told her to try and live a normal life. But Jody knows that Patience is probably going to have questions about magic, monsters, and her own gift. Jody gave Patience her card and told her, “My door is always open.” So there is it. The opening for Patience to go to Jody’s and try to figure out how to protect herself and how to use her gift.

Patience is a very interesting character and Clark Backo plays her perfectly. That makes the prospect of Wayward Sisters even more exciting.

Sam Fights For Jack

At the bunker Sam has been trying to get Jack to focus and learn how to use his powers. Jack gets really depressed and upset when he can’t use his powers on demand. He wonders if he really is evil. But Sam is adamant that Jack can choose to be good if he wants.

After Dean gets back he and Sam argue about Jack. They don’t know that Jack can hear them. Sam calls out Dean for telling Jack that he will kill Jack and for believing Jack is evil. Dean tells Sam that he’s wasting his time. Dean also tells Sam that he blames Jack for Castiel’s death. And Jack appears to use some kind of power to call out to Castiel. Cas is seen lying in a dark room. But he stirs when softly hears Jack calling out to him.

So Cas is definitely still alive in some fashion. His vessel was burned but he’s not dead. Does that mean that Crowley could come back? Or Charlie? Or Miriam? Get on that Supernatural. But at least Castiel is not totally dead and will be back.
