Why isn’t Lady Sif in Thor: Ragnarok?

A noteworthy character was not part of Thor: Ragnarok. Why was this the case?

With Thor: Ragnarok in cinemas across territories such as the UK, Australia and New Zealand, what is noticeable, which is a clear sign from the trailers is – fan favorite – Lady Sif is nowhere to be seen.

The actress, Jaimie Alexander told Yahoo! Entertainment “I was asked,” regarding why this is the case before stating:

"“But the timing of when they were going to shoot and when Blindspot was going to shoot – it was pretty much the same time. So there was a conflict there.”"

A scheduling conflict seemed to have struck.

The crime-drama series, Blindspot, is a Berlanti/Quinn’s House production that currently airs on NBC about an amnesiac, tattooed, woman trying to recover the mysteries of her own past and identity.

Alexander then added:

"“I was hoping for more of a notice from [the studio] so I could make it work, but it was a short notice thing.”“They called and said, ‘Hey, by the way, would you come to do this?’ I said there is no way I can make that work that fast.”"

Alexander, of course, is not the only one not in for the grand finale (there is always the next film if that happens) – Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings and Stellan Skarsgård – as the mortal supporting cast will not be appearing.

In place of Lady Sif, however, is Tessa Thompson as the Valkyrie (pictured above). Cate Blanchett is playing the Norse goddess Hela.
