Every week has hundreds of comic books coming out and this is just a short list of some the best ones worth checking out.

Superman #34: Written by Peter J. Tomasi, Patrick Gleason and art by Doug Manhke. This week Superman picks up where last issue left off with the Kent family trapped on Apokolips with no idea why they were there. It looks like Lex Luthor is in trouble and he didn’t give Superman much of a choice in helping him. If the cover is any indication, it looks like the whole Kent family will be joining in on the action this time around.

Jonathon, Clark, and Lois have all been separated and have to survive on their own. Superman will have to team up with Lex Luthor to bring peace to the leaderless and warring planet. Will one of them accept the throne to bring order to chaos?

Spider-Man #234: Written by Brian Michael Bendis and art by . The Sinister Six is reborn in the re-numbered pages of Spider-Man. Now Miles Morales is the one under the mask, but the new sinister six is still just as threatening. Sandman, Hobgoblin, Electro, The Spot, and Bombshell are now led by the unknown Iron Spider. They’ve all come together to make Spider-Man’s life even worse. Bombshell was a former ally and friend to Miles, but now it looks like she might be out to turn against him at the worst possible time. His life was already being pulled apart from all directions and the previews have hinted at someone close to him paying the price for his dangerous lifestyle.

Batman #34: Written by Tom King and art by Joelle Jones. This is part two of the first storyline to pick up after the engagement of Catwoman and Batman. The two of them have gone on a world-spanning quest on a collision course with one of Batman’s greatest foes and former loves. His adoptive family of sidekicks thinks that Bruce has fallen into the clutches of Selina Kyle. Has Batman lost his mind or has he finally accepted who he is? Right now, he is far beyond the constraints of the law and the borders of Gotham City. He has come here to settle an old score and bring closure to an old wound. This is a new era for the Dark Knight and Tom King is leading him down an unknown interesting path.

Captain America #695: Written by Mark Waid and art by Chris Samnee. The tried and true Steve Rogers has returned and he has a lot to make up for. Given the events of Secret Empire, Captain America now has a ruined reputation. How do you fix your national reputation and figure out who you really are again? A road trip across America of course. Mark Waid’s former run on Captain America from several years ago was always one of my favorites and he returns now to bring Cap some brand new dangers. He is re-teaming with his Black Widow collaborator, Chris Samnee, and this return to form for Captain America has been highly anticipated.

Jetsons #1: Written by Jimmy Palmiotti and art by Pier Brito. It is time for yet another cartoon from our childhood to be brought back into the modern time and redone for a brand new audience. The Jetson’s haven’t changed but the times have. George Jetson is an analog man in a digital world. Jane is a brilliant NASA scientist, Judy is a social media star trying to discover her purpose in life and Elroy is using his robotic technology to break all sorts of rules. Also, this time Rosie the robot has the consciousness of George’s mother downloaded into it. Jetsons follows in the footsteps of classic cartoons like Ducktales and The Flintstones as they re-enter the world in comic books form.
