Will the Asgardians even make it to Earth?

I think the short answer is a definite no. After all, does anyone else think the giant spaceship which appears during the mid-credits teaser doesn’t belong to Thanos? Those who also saw the Avengers: Infinity War trailer at San Diego Comic-Con will easily piece together what’s will happen next. Thanos destroys the Asgardian ship, and kills or enslaves the Asgardians. Only Thor escapes and then rescued by the Guardians of the Galaxy.

No wonder Thor: Ragnarok has so many jokes (perhaps too many)because this makes the film’s ending even more disheartening.  We could be looking at a situation in which Thor, and possibly Loki, become the last of their kind. It also means things don’t look promising for Heimdall (Idris Elba) or Valkyrie as they could die, as well. That said, it definitely establishes Thanos as a genuine threat and gives Thor a very personal motive for stopping him.

I also believe we’ll see this happen during Avengers: Infinity War, too. Just like the mid-credits teaser from Doctor Strange wound up in Thor: Ragnarok, I suspect the mid-credits scene from Thor: Ragnarok will be in Avengers: Infinity War.
