Every Wednesday is new comic books day and there a ton of comic books worth checking out. Here are some of the more high profile ones to take a look at.

The latest slate of comic books are out. What is worth the buy? Let’s take a look.

Star Wars #38: Written by Kieron Gillen and art by Salvador. The relaunch of the Star Wars comic book universe under the Marvel banner has been very successful. It breathed new life into the untold stories of the Star Wars saga. The most well reviewed series of them was the first Darth Vader series written by Kieron Gillen and drawn by Salvador Larroca. That duo is now taking over the primary Star Wars series from Jason Aaron.

The classic Rebel Alliance is now turning its attention to the broken planet of Jedha. It was once a ritualistic site of great importance to the Jedi, now it is left in ruins after the Death Star destroyed the holy city there. This new creative team takes over to tell the tale of Luke, Leia, and Han as they travel to this desolate example of the Empire’s fury.

Batman Lost (One-Shot): Written by Scott Snyder and art by Bengal and Olivier Coipel. The Dark Nights: Metal giant event has stranded Batman in the dark multiverse while all of his allies are fighting against a seemingly unstoppable wave of alternate versions of evil Batmen. This is the biggest Batman event ever to hit the DC Universe, but Batman himself has been pretty scarce since the beginning. In the main Dark Nights: Metal storyline, we have followed most of the other members of the Justice League or members of the Bat-family.

This promises to be the first time we’ve really seen what is going on with our version of Bruce Wayne since the beginning of the mini-series. The previews say this will be a story of Batman facing his greatest fears. With Scott Snyder at the helm, the nightmares are sure to be traumatic and dark visions of the Batman’s worst moments. We know that Batman must return to save the world from his evil dopplegangers. This is the first step in his journey back from the darkness.

Moon Knight #188: Written by Max Bemis and art Jacen Burrows. A brand new enemy promises to present a challenge unlike anything Moon Knight has seen before. He has always been a protector from the shadows, but his new nemesis is trying to push those shadows away with blinding light and fire. Marc Spector worships the God of the Moon and now he must face the wrath of the Sun God. This brand new creative team will usher in a new era for the dark guardian of the night. He has never had a true arch-nemesis before, but Moon Knight will have to survive against an unknown power out to destroy him.

Justice League of America #18: Written by Steven Orlando and art by Hugo Petrus. The villain known as Prometheus has set his sights on the amateur Justice League of America. Batman has left the team alone and the JLA might be pulling itself apart at the seems. While Vixen is trying to fill the gap as the team leader, Prometheus chooses this time to strike. He is out to prove that the League must be destroyed and he has brought a friend with him.

This latest version of the Justice League of America is still learning how to operate as a team and without Batman at the helm, who knows how the rest of the world will see this team of misfits, criminals, and amateurs.

Daredevil #595: Written by Charles Soule and art by Stefano Landini. Daredevil is returning from his trip abroad and back to his original numbering order. With number 600 close in sight, Matt Murdock is set to take on one of his oldest and greatest enemies. Wilson Fisk has retaken New York City under his control. The kingpin now has the entire city of New York behind him and Daredevil is just one man. Murdock must do what he always does and find a way to keep fighting against the raising odds.
