3. Taylor Kitsch (36)

For a long time, Kitsch was known for his role in Friday Night Lights as the hotshot womanizing running back Tim Riggins. Since then he went on to play in a couple of movies and while he hasn’t been the blockbuster breakout star many expected, he’s proven that he’s ready for that breakout role.

In John Carter Kitsch came off as a chill, relaxed smooth character much like his role as Gambit in  X-Men Origins: Wolverine, though the latter was a little more flamboyant. In True Detective Season 2 Kitsch played a much darker role as a tortured California cop Paul Woodrugh which also aids in his ability to portray both Bruce Wayne and Batman. In American Assassin as Ghost, he proved once again that was ready to be an action star, while Only the Brave showed off his acting skills playing firefighter Chris MacKenzie

A role in the DCEU as Batman gives the WB a fresh face inexpensive actor they could build around like they did with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. With Matt Reeves focusing on the detective Bruce Wayne there are a couple directions he could go, but having someone that doesn’t a have a larger than life reputation could work wonders for his film. And at 36-years old Kitsch is young enough to play Batman for a long time, and just right to play a seasoned hero who has been fighting crime since his 20s.
