Will Green Lantern be in Justice League?

Justice League presents five superheroes in the film’s marketing. However, could the Green Lantern be an in-movie addition?

The Justice League movie will be released soon, as a continuation of the DC Extended Universe. It follows Aquaman, Batman, Cyborg, The Flash and Wonder Woman, as they look to thwart the film’s villain, Steppenwolf. These characters are based on those seen in DC Comics.

These five heroes are far from the only DC Comics characters that exist, at least in the comic book world. The same goes for the Justice League, which features more heroes than these five. So, could this upcoming film introduce figures from the comics who align with the others?

There has been fanfare around the Green Lantern, ever since a Green Lantern Corps movie was confirmed for 2020, via ScreenRant. That means Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart are guaranteed to appear in the DCEU.

However, when the DECU introduces characters, they usually receive cameos in other films before receiving their own flick or a larger role. That went for Aquaman and Wonder Woman, both of whom debuted in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Wonder Woman already hit theaters, while Aquaman will be released in December 2018.

Does that mean a cameo for the yet-to-be-announced actors that play Jordan and Stewart in Justice League? So far, it’s unknown, with no hints given by the cast or production team in interviews.

With all the characters set to receive airtime, it seems unlikely another one gets a significant spot. That doesn’t include a potential Superman resurrection. So, if a Green Lantern appears, maybe it’s only a green light tease or someone name-dropping “Hal Jordan” or “John Stewart.”

Justice League also has a post-credits scene, as Jason Momoa revealed. Will that be the debut of a Green Lantern?

If none of this happens we’ll have to wait for a future DCEU film, or for Green Lantern Corps in 2020.
