Thanksgiving is almost here, but that won’t stop the latest episodes of your favorite superhero shows from hitting the airwaves on Monday night. That includes Supergirl on the CW and The Gifted on Fox.

The Gifted will enter its eighth episode on Monday, Nov. 20. Season 1 only received an order of 10 episodes, so we’re nearing the end of this X-Men-centric show’s first run. That means a potentially epic conclusion to season 1’s events is on the way, with teases of what could happen in season 2.

Episode 8’s synopsis from Fox, titled “threat of eXtinction,” teases more mutants arriving at the Mutant Underground. One of them aligned with Sentinel Services, however, which may provide a problem for the show’s heroes. Reed Strucker will also visit his father, who he felt had something to do with the problems that persisted through season 1.

All of this should continue the build toward the season finale, with a possible battle between the Mutant Underground and Sentinal Services. What could develop?
