Superhero Guide to Black Friday: Your Walmart shopping guide
Black Friday 2017 is here and it’s time to unleash your inner superhero to make the best of all of the hot deals out there. Here’s your Superhero’s Guide to Walmart.
Shoppers, take your marks. Thanksgiving is here, and that means Black Friday is right around the corner. Her Cape wants to help everyone have a successful Black Friday shopping experience so we have put together a Superhero’s Guide to Black Friday with the best deals, both in store and online, for all of the major retailers.
When it comes to Black Friday, everyone wants to know about Walmart.
Thanksgiving Store Hours: Vary by location
Here’s the deal on Thanksgiving hours at Walmart. Stores that are 24 hours will likely be open before the Black Friday sale begins. Be sure to call ahead to find out. That means you can go inside the store but nothing can be sold at Black Friday prices until 6pm local time. The merchandise will be sitting out on pallets ready for you but you can’t touch it until the employees say go.
Stores that are not open 24 hours will open at 6pm local time. Expect to see people lined up outside all day (and possibly since the Wednesday before) to get those Black Friday doorbuster prices. But there’s a reason they’re called “doorbusters” and it’s because people will break down the door to get inside so expect a mad rush on Thanksgiving.
Black Friday Hours
Sales start at 6pm local time on Thanksgiving and continue into Friday. Stores will remain open all night long for your shopping pleasure.
Since the stores will already be open from the night before, there isn’t much reason to flock to Walmart first thing on Friday morning but if you want to, the doors will already be open.
The Black Friday Ad
Here it is! It’s pretty straightforward, but you’ll find amazing deals across all departments. (I can’t stress enough that these will all be available online, so if you really want something that’s the best way to go!)
Thanksgiving Online Shopping Deals
Rather than waiting until after you eat your Thanksgiving dinner to go shopping, why not stay at home and shop the same Black Friday doorbusters online? Walmart’s online deals start at 12:01 AM on Thursday morning. That means you can have your big TVs and all of the toys purchased before you hit your pillow, leaving you your entire Thursday to sit back, eat turkey and relax.
Tips and Tricks
Not all Walmart locations are closed on Thanksgiving. The 24-hour stores will be open prior to the start of their sales, and at 6pm local time the wrapping comes off and the madness begins. To ensure you get what you want, arrive at those stores early to get the lay of the land.
Grab a shopping cart and wander the aisles until you see the stack of items that you want. If you want more than one doorbuster deal, then plan to bring friends and family with you because you will have one shot to grab big ticket items.

Many people grab multiple items and then debate whether or not they really want them, so if you’re questioning whether or not you want something, grab it and decide away from the masses of people.
Most of all, be nice to the store employees. They have to work on Thanksgiving to give you these amazing deals. Be respectful, smile, and say thank you.
