A look at the version of Deathstroke that will be seen in the DC Extended Universe.

Warner Bros. Studios has released the newest DC Extended Universe film Justice League a few weeks ago. Although the movie isn’t great and has some major issues, a majority of fans seem to all agree that one of the coolest moments was the end credit scenes. The first scene was a fun moment teasing a race between Superman and The Flash (loser buys brunch), while the other offers a look into what we can expect in the future of the franchise (if there is one). The post-credits scene featured Lex Luthor who has escaped from prison meeting up with the popular super villain Deathstroke on a fancy yacht.

This showed Deathstroke a.k.a. Slade Wilson removing his mask, revealing his face and confirming that actor Joe Manganiello will be playing the character. A new image has been revealed of the actor in costume courtesy of Joe Manganiello’s Twitter account, check it out below:

This image is straight from the scene movie viewers got to see and looks really great. The detail put into the outfit and even Slade’s facial hair looks just like the comics and gives me hope that we will get to see him in action soon. It is unclear that Deathstroke will appear in a Justice League sequel, a Matt Reeves-directed Batman, or even a Deathstroke spinoff movie, but fans can at least enjoy this high-quality image and speculate for now.

For many hardcore comic book movie fans, they know Joe Manganiello from another superhero movie before cinematic universes were even a thought. The actor also played Flash Thompson, from the 2002 Spider-Man film directed by Sam Raimi. Although Flash was necessarily a “villain,” he was an opposing foe to Peter Parker, thus jump-starting Manganiello’s comic book antagonist career.
