If you have waited to start reading Injustice 2, now’s the time to dive in with the release of  Injustice 2 Annual #1 featuring Wonder Woman’s Injustice origin story.

At first glance, Diana Prince’s Injustice origin story isn’t that much different from that of the global box office smash hit Wonder Woman…until it simply isn’t. In Injustice 2 Annual #1 Diana Prince meets Steve Trevor and goes off to fight the good fight until the lines become blurred and the story takes a disturbing turn.

Wonder Woman has always been a defender of the innocent, but a stunning betrayal leaves her world shattered and leads her down a path that’s a lot different from the one we used to know. What’s more is that Wonder Woman becomes an unwitting accomplice to the evil around her, and it’s that very realization that sets her off and shapes the way she fights evil in the future.

Included in Injustice 2 Annual #1 is “Harley’s Horde: Grounded Zeroes.” In a tale of what happened to Harley Quinn’s gang after she disappeared, we see her former allies come together to celebrate the memory of one of their fallen friends and to get a little practice in (just in case Harley needs them again), when the Suicide Squad C-Team shows up. We’re talking Polka Dot Man, Magpie, Clock King and Killer Moth. Naturally, Harley’s gang dispatches them but they decide to warn Harley with disastrous results.

The striking thing about “Grounded Zeroes” is that the enemy isn’t the enemy at all. It all boils down to one awful person who wants Harley and will stop at nothing to get her. It’s a powerful story with several jaw-dropping moments.
