Her Cape Comic Review: Justice League of America Annual #1
Justice League of America Annual #1 is a fun tale that brings Lobo and Black Canary together on a surprising mission that hits close to home for Lobo.
When it comes to helping others, Lobo isn’t the member of Batman’s Justice League of America that comes to mind. However, Lobo is on a very personal mission in Justice League of America Annual #1 and he brings Black Canary with him for support.
Who would have thought Lobo has a soft spot? When Lobo learns that the peace-loving inhabitants of Del-Marzopa are being slaughtered, he finagles a deal with Batman to leave Earth to help them.

There’s a twist, of course, and Black Canary wants to know the whole truth. After a fun romp through memory lane back to Lobo’s formative years, we learn why he’s so obsessed with the gentle creatures of Del-Marzopa: They’re dolphins.

“Lookin’ inta those wet, black eyes, I don’ think I ever saw a thing so pure.” That’s right, Lobo is infatuated with dolphins and he’s going to save them. “Ya know I can’t stand ta see a dolphin cry, Canary,” he tells Black Canary, who is both intrigued and suspicious.
Justice League of America Annual #1 is a fun romp through the galaxy with Lobo and Black Canary on a mission to save the residents of Del-Marzopa. It’s a refreshingly sweet tale that’s a fun departure for Lobo. (But don’t tell him that!)
