Spider-Man

Cue the outraged comments. “Are you serious? Spider-Man?! After all the trouble Marvel and Disney went through cutting a deal with Sony, there’s no way they’d kill him off.”

Well, if you watch the trailer, Spidey (Tom Holland)–wearing the costume teased at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)–goes up against Thanos…and it doesn’t go well. It doesn’t matter how strong Peter Parker is when he’s on the receiving end of what looks like an Undertaker chokeslam. If you look at the shots from the trailer showing Tony on the verge of tears, the context is clear. He failed to protect his young protegé.

Also, with some deductive reasoning, Spider-Man’s fight with Thanos and Iron Man fighting Thanos happen on an alien planet. Thus, these look like these scenes will occur towards the climax of the movie, probably the same time as the Wakanda battle. If Spider-Man does bite it in the film, it makes sense for to happen near the end, along with advancing Tony’s character arc.

Still, this could just as easily apply to Spider-Man being severely injured. The Russo brother’s did do something similar with War Machine (Don Cheadle) during Captain America: Civil War. In other words, Spider-Man doesn’t have to die for Tony to feel guilt and want revenge against Thanos. Besides, Holland does have Avengers 4 and two more Spider-Man movies left. You can relax now, Spidey fans.
