Thor
The God of Thunder had a rough time of it during Thor: Ragnarok. If the trailer is any indication, things will get even rougher for him. Yet, does this mean Thor could also die during Avengers: Infinity War? After the trailer, the chances of this happening might have gone up.
The images of Thor in the trailer, standing in the middle of a circular, alien contraption like Leonardo da Vinci’s “Vitruvian Man” while screaming has “heroic sacrifice” all over it. If so, this scene could takes place during the climax of the film. If it also involves preventing a reactor core meltdown, it’s possible Thor gets a lethal dosage of cosmic radiation like Spock in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
Then again, it’s also possible this moment occurs during Thanos’ attack against the Asgardians near the beginning of the movie. If that’s so, maybe this is Thor doing something to help some of the Asgardians and Hulk escape. If so, it could explain why he looks so beat up during his meeting with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Either way, it will depend on when during the movie this scene will take place. That said, it still seems very unlikely Thor will die during this film or the next one. After all, having his people settle at a new Asgard where he reigns as king is where his story is heading. It’d be a shame for that to come to an abrupt end.
