Avengers: Infinity War — International release date will anger US market

If you plan on viewing Avengers: Infinity War in the United States, it will be at least one week after the international airing.

Avengers: Infinity War will be one of 2018’s most anticipated movies. Frankly, it may be the biggest superhero movie ever, as it features almost every major Marvel Cinematic Universe character from the past 10 years. Of course, minor ones and most of the villains won’t be involved, but the cast is loaded. It will see them battle Thanos, the villain that’s been teased since The Avengers in 2012.

Infinity War’s advertised release date is Friday, May 4, 2018 — for the United States. It’s not a universal date, unlike the international markets. So, if you’re outside the 50 states, you won’t enjoy the release date for everywhere else.

Via CBR.com, this movie will air a full week earlier in Australia, France, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand and Sweden, on April 25, 2018. Brazil, Germany, Greece, Hungary and Singapore will get it on April 26. To top it off, India, Bulgaria, Japan, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom and Vietnam will see the third Avengers movie on April 27.

This means the US will be at the back of the line, while Disney looks to capitalize on the international markets for seven days. That’s obviously bad news for US residents, as movie spoilers may appear online and sit there for a full week. Staying off the internet is almost impossible in today’s age, so if you don’t want to be spoiled before Avengers: Infinity War’s US release date, it could be a difficult feat to pull off.
