1. James Wan’s resume

One thing that James Wan has over other DCEU directors is a resume loaded with successful films. Whether it be the horror genre like the Conjuring or the action pack fast paced Fast and Furious Wan has proven that he can step into a franchise and it’ll never skip a beat.

Wan’s creativity spawned a franchise all of its own with Saw back in 2004, and he didn’t need a big budget. He stayed on as executive producer for five sequels since directing the original. Wan continued to prove how innovative he was in the horror industry by starting a new franchise with Insidious before jumping onto the Conjuring franchise. Conjuring 2 became a critical success and so was his 2017 produced film Annabelle Creations, a low budget $15M film which saw a $305M box office.

Wan showed off his versatility by shifting gears with Furious 7 in 2015 in a film that was arguably the best of the franchise. Now, Wan will direct Jason Mamoa in Aquaman, but fans can rest easy that he won’t take the easy way out, like Justice League did with their underwater dialogue.
