2. Wally West
The popular theory for a Legends of Tomorrow replacement, Wally West seems like the ideal character to take Firestorm’s spot. It wouldn’t be his first show appearance, either, having a brief cameo in the early episodes of season 3.
It draws back to Wally’s minimal use on The Flash. Since gaining speedster powers in season 3, his role in storylines ranged from minimal to none. It felt like everyone forgot Doctor Alchemy gave the youngest West his abilities, as it was barely referenced in season 3’s latter half and not once in season 4. That’s likely due to his invisibility in the Clifford DeVoe storyline. He was even written out of the four-part crossover.

As of the midseason finale, Wally remains in Cambodia, continuing to not be used. He’s still a regular on The Flash, however, so an increased role seems inevitable.
Surprisingly, despite all the changes the Legends cast endured in two-plus years, a speedster never joined the Waverider (if the villainous Reverse Flash doesn’t count). It offers a unique dynamic for the team, who can utilize the lightning-quick moves of Wally to take down foes and help in ways Firestorm couldn’t. That’s while finally fleshing out Keiynan Lonsdale’s character.
The downside? Potential financial constraints of having another speedster on a weekly show, as former producer Andrew Kreisberg told TV Line in October. That would continue keeping Lonsdale off TV, unless The Flash finds a way to use him in a powerless role.
