4. Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Ewoks! Ewoks everywhere! Return of the Jedi was the end of the original trilogy, wrapping up all loose ends as the Rebels defeat the Empire. This movie is very fun and has some of the most memorable moments in the entire franchise.
In this movie, we get an awesome standoff scene at Jabba’s Palace and the reveal of Luke’s green lightsaber, who has grown to be a more powerful Jedi Knight. We also learn the second biggest twist in the series, Luke kissed his long-lost sister Leia! We also get an awesome rematch between Luke Skywalker and his father Darth Vader, the conclusion to one of the epic trilogies ever made.
This is the weakest of the trilogy, which still isn’t a bad thing. The film is more spectacle than story but still holds up today as a great blockbuster adventure. Yes, the Ewoks defeating an army of Stormtroopers is very stupid, but everything else makes up for it. It’s the ultimate feel-good movie of the series, the good guys win, Vader’s face is revealed, and everyone lives happily ever after, until the next episode.
