Star Wars: All 8 movies, ranked from worst to best

2. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
One of the best sequels ever made! Episode Five is the probably the iconic Star Wars film to date. This is the darkest film of the series, the one where the bad guys win, hence strikes back. Han gets frozen, Luke loses his hand and finds out the truth about his father, everything goes wrong for our heroes, something that most movies never tried before. Back when the movie hit theaters, majority of audiences didn’t know if sequels were green lit or what cinematic universes were on the horizon, this film was brilliant in so many ways.
What else could be said about this extraordinary film? The battle at Hoth still holds up today, the themes or destiny and family drama play very well here, even if that cave scene was a miss. Although I can praise this film forever, the reason it’s a runner-up is that it is not a complete story, it’s an episode. Not to say that cliffhangers aren’t bad, but this movie is designed to be continued in another movie, it’s an incomplete story. But if you think that Force Awakens reminded you of New Hope, I have a feeling that Last Jedi will remind you of this movie.
