6. Deadpool

Deadpool has one of the worst lives in comic book history and 2017 wasn’t any better. He was tricked by Hydra Steve Rogers into killing Phil Coulson, joined Hydra, and was abandoned by his surrogate family and, more importantly, his biological daughter. Wade Wilson has always had a tragic life and I doubt it’s going to change now. But, Deadpool appears to still have the need to be a better person. Too bad the fates are always pooping on him and his life.

If that’s not bad enough, Deadpool owes Stryfe for saving his family. In order to pay off this debt, Deadpool has to murder people Stryfe orders him. Cable was first, but we all knew Cable was going to survive. But who else will Stryfe make Deadpool kill? The thing to watch out for is when Deadpool eventually turns on Stryfe. More importantly, what will be the final straw for Deadpool and what will the repercussions be of Deadpool not holding up his end of the deal?

5. Thor Odinson

With three words, Nick Fury made Thor Odinson unworthy to lift the hammer Mjolnir (Original Sin). Since then, Thor has been unlike the hero we’ve become accustomed to. He’s unkempt, mopes, constantly stays drunk, and won’t even go by his birth name (now calling himself Odinson). He even had the chance to acquire the hammer of Thor from the Ultimate Universe and he turned it down. He wanted HIS hammer. The good news for Thor fans is a vision in Thor 700. This vision showed a Thor Odinson with a new golden arm and hammer. It remains unknown whether or not this vision will come to pass, but it’s very likely.

In 2018 expect Thor to return his former glory. A Thor who was the confident protector of the universe. While it was a nice twist to see a different side of Thor, it will be refreshing to see him back the way we are used to. His journey to become worthy again will be a great one.
