Avengers: Infinity War’s first 5 minutes will establish Thanos
Avengers: Infinity War will have a destructive first five minutes. If Thor: Ragnarok was any indication, this could involve its characters.
Avengers: Infinity War’s hype only took off in late November, when the first official trailer was released for the 2018 blockbuster. It showcased destruction in New York City, a war in Wakanda, Captain America’s beard and all the necessary footage of the film’s villain, Thanos.
The Mad Titan was first teased in a post-credits scene for 2012’s The Avengers. Along with other references to him in succeeding Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, it took six years to get Infinity War’s big bad into a full-length movie role.
Will the wait be worth it? According to Marvel president Kevin Feige, who spoke at Brazil Comic-Con, it’s likely (via Comic Book Movie). He teased something will happen “within the first five minutes” that’s caused by Thanos.
"“We’ve been teasing [Thanos] for years and the trick is when you tease something for that long you have to deliver. So, within the first five minutes of Infinity War people will understand why Thanos is the biggest and baddest villain in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”"
What could this be? Well, during the mid-credits scene of Thor: Ragnarok, a spaceship dwarfed the one Thor, Loki, Hulk, Valkyrie and the Asgardians were on. Nothing happened, nor was the ship’s owner identified. It wouldn’t be crazy to think it was Thanos’, though.
Will that mean Thanos destroys the Asgardian ship? The trailer already showed Thor on the Guardians of the Galaxy’s vehicle, meaning he’ll end up there in some way, whether it’s early in the movie or later on. Could that indicate Avengers: Infinity War’s villain kills the rest of the Asgardians?

Whatever the case may be, we won’t know until the movie’s release on Friday, May 4, 2018. It stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and a cast that covers almost every Marvel movie that hit theaters since 2008.
