7. Doomquest – Iron Man 149-150

This is one of the most fun stories in Stark’s history. It is surprising that it took this long for Iron Man and Doctor Doom to face against each other, but when it finally happened it was a story that could only happen in comics. Victor Von Doom and Tony Stark are thrown back into the past to the time of King Arthur and his knights. Of course, Iron Man teams up with King Arthur and Dr. Doom finds himself on the same side of Morgan Le Fay, the evil sorceress.

Eventually the two of them are forced to team up with each other in order to find a way home. This one is a classic because it speaks to the level of craziness that comic books can get up to and is full of fantastical high-stakes action. This little story would get a sequel about a hundred issues later, but this first one is the one that deserves your attention. I mean you get Iron Man vs. Doctor Doom all surrounded by medieval knights and an army of the undead. What more do you want from your comic books?
