10 best Iron Man storylines in the comics

5. Demon In A Bottle Iron Man – 120-128
This tale eventually became known for how it forced Tony Stark to confront his alcoholism, but really this one started out as it introduced the villain known as Justin Hammer. Justin Hammer is basically the ultimate salesman for the villains of the Marvel world. Hammer frames Stark for murder by hacking into his suit and Tony is forced to go on the run just as himself and not Iron Man. Eventually, Iron Man makes his return and has to take on an army of supervillains in order to get to Hammer and stop him.
Without the character study of Tony’s alcoholism, this story would still be a big one in the canon of Iron Man. However, further establishing this weakness and giving a very human vulnerability to Tony Stark went a long way into making him a more human character. Making him an alcoholic turned the billionaire genius playboy into a much more relatable hero.
