2. Kylo Ren dies, but the main protagonists survive

Kylo Ren is one of the most complicated and intriguing characters featured in this sequel trilogy. He has a rich and tragic backstory that led him down the wrong path and after The Last Jedi, he’s a more chaotic and broken character than ever before. It will be interesting to see where J.J. Abrams, Rian Johnson and the rest of team behind Episode IX will take Ben Solo’s character from here, but if one thing’s for sure, he’s probably not going to make it out alive.

I see two potential endings to Kylo Ren’s story: he either dies a villain as Rey is unable to turn him over or he dies a hero sacrificing himself to save the day. The Last Jedi was the film that took all of the risks and I don’t expect Episode IX to do something too crazy. On that note, I don’t expect Rey, Finn, Poe or many of the other main characters to kick the bucket at the end of this trilogy. Again, The Last Jedi already had some key death scenes and Kylo Ren and General Leia are two huge characters.
