1. Rey will train a new generation of Jedi

After the events of Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker tried to train a new generation of Jedi. As The Last Jedi revealed, Luke became too worried over Ben Solo’s power and tried to strike him down. When he realized he was making a mistake, it was too late and Ben Solo killed all of the padawans and burned down the Jedi temple, leaving Skywalker a broken man.

Rey was able to hear these stories about how Luke Skywalker’s generation of Jedi failed and she has learned how important it is to continue the legacy of the Jedi strong. So, after the First Order is presumably defeated, Rey will go on to teach a new generation of Jedi. How she will find them, however, is a whole other story, but I believe that this will be a solid conclusion for the trilogy and it will tie up this “last Jedi” storyline nicely.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is playing in theaters now. The third and final film in the trilogy, Star Wars: Episode IX, releases on December 20, 2019. Before then, Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out next year on May 25, 2018.
