2. WORST: The Flash’s return to Central City

The end of Season 3 concluded with Team Flash finally defeating the menacing Savitar, but by doing so, it created an energy storm that appeared over Central City as a result of the empty Speed Force prison. In an emotional climatic moment, Barry took the empty spot in the Speed Force prison, leaving the rest of Team Flash to watch over Central City.

In the Season 4 premiere, we got to see a struggling Team Flash trying to fill in the absence of The Flash. Vibe and Kid Flash had to protect the streets by themselves while a hardened Iris West had stepped forward as the leader of Team Flash. Instead of moping over the loss of Barry to the Speed Force, Iris was determined to focus on looking forward rather than looking back. This was an intriguing storyline, but it didn’t receive too much time in the spotlight.

it only took 20 minutes before Barry returned from the Speed Force. By the end of the episode, he was back fighting crime as the Flash and everything was back to normal. This was a huge smack in the face to the fans as the show set up some major consequences, only for them to be solved in the quickest and simplest way possible. This isn’t the first time The Flash has done this, and when it does, it completely takes you out of the show.
