7. X-Men: Apocalypse

When it was announced that Apocalypse himself would be the main antagonist of the next X-Men film shortly after the release of X-Men: Days of Future, the hype levels were off the charts. The hype diminished from there, however, and I entered the theater with low expectations yet came out extremely surprised as the movie was actually very fun.

Say what you want about this film, but there were some fantastic performances to be found from McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and especially Michael Fassbender, whose acting chops stole every scene he was in. In general, X-Men: Apocalypse is a very entertaining movie that featured a lot of exciting comic book moments and action scenes that really made it an enjoyable theater experience. While it is not as great as some of the higher-regarded X-Men movies, it is a solid comic book movie (even though it is a bit forgettable).
