5. Deadpool

After years of Ryan Reynolds petitioning for a Deadpool movie, we finally got one and the film exceeded expectations. The movie did the impossible and successfully portrayed Deadpool’s origin story on the big screen and faithfully adapted the comic book character better than any other character before him. It was like they ripped Deadpool out of a comic book and inserted him on screen.

Just like the comics, this is a true R-rated film featuring cursing, sex, and profanity the whole entire time. Not only was Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool spot-on, but T.J. Miller as Weasel, Stephan Kapicic as Colossus and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead were all fantastic. The action was brutal and bloody and the jokes had you laughing out loud from start to finish. In fact, Deadpool was so entertaining that it made a superhero origin story feel fresh in the year 2016.
