3. Too much of a risk

Adapting one of the top Flash storylines from DC Comics behind Flash: Rebirth is a risk, especially something equally as celebrated as this, aside from more classic runs of The Flash.

It is debated that Batman v Superman wasted an opportunity to make good on their promise with ‘The Death of Superman’ and to a lesser extent, ‘The Dark Knight Returns’ storylines. In Justice League, they already wasted storylines such as ‘Superman: Reborn’ and Steppenwolf’s appearance. Bearing in mind, this has been just inspiration and no actual story-beats taken from ‘Reborn’ only minor elements.

Working on a live-action film adaptation of Flashpoint poses a huge risk if it does not do well in the market critically and commercially. Some of the risks it can pose is it could take a hit at Ezra’s career, especially as a lead, though he does have Harry Potter spin-offs, the Fantastic Beasts franchise to fall back on. It may not hurt the careers of the likes of Daley and Goldstein, but may hurt their chances of producing another DCEU film, but they may still have some good business relations with Warner.

It may even stall or postpone another solo film of the character for at least five to ten years while a crossover of the Flash in a team-up movie may not be a guarantee.
