4. Plenty of fourth wall breaks
Spider-Man is known for web swinging. Wolverine is known for his claws. Hulk is known for being giant and green. What is Deadpool most known for? Breaking the fourth wall.
Deadpool breaking the fourth wall has been a stable of his character since his early days in the comics. So naturally, breaking the fourth wall would have to be something that they brought into the first movie. Luckily they did, with Wade going as far as breaking the sixteenth wall.
Therefore, it is more than likely that it will happen again in the sequel. After all, it has already happened in all of the promotions for the movie. In the “No Good Deed” short, Deadpool mentions his costume designer Laird. In his Bob Ross parody, the entire thing screams fourth wall break. Finally, in the newest trailer, Deadpool calls out the editing department for not completing the CGI on Cable’s arm.
Luckily, there is plenty for Deadpool to break the fourth wall about in this movie. After all, in the comics one of his frequent targets is Cable himself. He tends to make fun of just about anything when it comes to Cable. Whether it be his arm or his temper, Deadpool finds humor in all of it.
His fourth wall breaking doesn’t even have to pander towards a specific character either. As we saw in the previous movie, Deadpool broke the fourth wall throughout his entire origin. While this isn’t his origin anymore, we can expect that he’ll continue to break the fourth wall throughout his story.
The same goes for Cable’s story. Whether it be making fun of Cable’s origin, or anything else, we can expect hilarity to ensue from his fourth wall breaking.
