2. Deadpool has voices in his head

Alongside the fourth wall breaking, one of Deadpool’s signature tropes is the voices he talks to inside his head. Throughout the comics, this has been one of the things that makes Deadpool who he is.

The two voices in the comics are marked by two different speech boxes. The white box tends to be not necessarily serious, but more cut and dry than Deadpool’s normal attitude. The yellow box on the other hand tends to be more like what Deadpool normally acts like, only amplified.

Together, they make up Deadpool’s conscience. They are much like the devil and angel sitting on his shoulder. Except with Deadpool, they are used more for comedy.

As good as the first movie was, the one thing that it lacked were these two voices. Granted, they probably wouldn’t have worked for the story that the movie was telling. But that doesn’t mean they couldn’t show up in the sequel.

What would be interesting to see is for over time, Wade has slowly been getting crazier. To others, it looks like he’s talking to himself. When in reality, he is just hearing voices in his head. This doesn’t make him go insane necessarily. Instead it makes him kookier than he was already perceived.

While it would certainly add to the plot, this would more be a tribute to the fans. These two voices tend to be some of the fans favorite thing about Deadpool. Not only does it add to his humor, it is a unique characteristic for a superhero. And in a movie intentionally making fun of other superhero movies, these voices would be the perfect fit for the occasion.
