5. Norman Osborn

When you think of Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin is the first thing that usually comes to mind. It’s what he’s known for. In the Ultimate Universe he’s still the Green Goblin. Except, in this universe, it’s not a suit. Norman still gained his powers form the OZ formula, but he physically transformed into a giant green goblin. This may have been the form he fought in, but The Green Goblin isn’t what makes Norman Osborn such a great and diabolical villain.

Norman was evil before he turned himself into the Green Goblin. He threatened his employees with death, treated his only son (Harry) terribly, tried to kill Peter Parker so he wouldn’t sue him, and who knows what else. Sure, as the Green Goblin he’s killed dozens if not hundreds of people, but all the formula did was amplify who he really was inside. When Norman Osborn was the Green Goblin, he was physically brutal. But as regular Norman, he was just a terrible human being.

But despite all of that, Norman Osborn was a genius. He was the one who created the formula that made Peter Parker Spider-Man. On top of his genius, he knew how to manipulate people. He tricked Doc Ock, Kraven, Electro, and Sandman into attacking the White House with promises he’d never keep. And when he busted out of prison, he went right to the media and cried on live TV telling everyone he was wrongfully imprisoned. It was genius.
