1. Wonder Woman

Out of all comic book movies, the number one seller is Wonder Woman. Is this any surprise? She stole everyone’s hearts in theaters and continues to do so afterward. She debuted at the number one spot, though strangely did not remain there. After nearly a month on DVD and Blu-ray, she began to outsell Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s entire 2017 year run. Plus, just like the Guardians, she too is an all-time best selling Blu-ray, which director Patty Jenkins was very proud of. She manages to beat other DCEU Blu-ray releases like Batman v. Superman and Suicide Squad.

It is especially stirring how she was the number one best selling during Black Friday week. In that week alone Wonder Woman brought in over $13 million, which is a lot since she stopped making those kinds of figures weeks prior. She was the number one best selling Blu-ray the week afterward as well. She stays within the top twenty on DVD. On Blu-ray, she never dropped below the number seven spot for 2017.

Wonder Woman is the first time since Man of Steel for DC to have one of the best selling comic book movies. This speaks volumes for a comic book movie helmed by and starring a woman to beat the on-going boys club of super-heroics in Hollywood. Plus, Wonder Woman was a breath of fresh air from all the other comic book movies as well. The box office proves it and the audiences at home prove it. Female comic book movies can work. Because it did! She is the number seven best selling DVD! She is the number three best selling Blu-ray of 2017. Finally, she is the number four best selling movie of 2017!
