1. Avengers: Infinity War

As far as blockbusters go, it’s tough to beat the emotional weight carried by Avengers: Infinity War. The film is coming after a decade worth of buildup, and features a large variety of characters that have been established throughout the span of 18 films. Thankfully, the movie’s first trailer (which was released in 2017) perfectly conveyed that importance.

The greatness starts with the opening narration, as each Avenger recites Nick Fury’s original plan to make Earth’s Mightiest Heroes come together. Then it moves up to Thanos, who, after six years of teases, finally gets to show off his villainy and establish himself as the Avengers’ biggest threat yet. As if that wasn’t enough awesomeness, the experience is heightened by the original Avengers score masterfully playing during the trailer’s closing moments.

Could the trailer’s successful emotional resonance be attributed to the movie itself? Perhaps, but that still doesn’t take away from what it accomplished. The trailer could have been just another action-packed series of events meshed together into a two-minute teaser. Instead of that, it went for a more emotional approach, perfectly conveying what the Marvel Cinematic Universe has meant for audiences throughout the past 10 years.

Overall, the trailer was a powerful journey, one that lends itself to be experienced over and over again.
