2. Ra’s al Ghul
Ra’s al Ghul is probably best known from the CW show Arrow, Batman Begins, and Batman the Animated Series. All of these show a side of Ra’s al Ghul that many people will agree with. The idea that the Earth needs to be protected. Ra’s believes that certain corporations should be more aware of the negative effect that they are having on the planet. The problem with Ra’s is that he is an extremist. Ra’s would rather commit genocide than try and change the world. This is a theory that has been popular with audiences for years. Erik Killmonger is a recent example of people loving a villain with a cause.
Ra’s al Ghul’s story would make his cause seem justified. His methods may be a bit extreme, but, like Erik Killmonger, some people in the audience might sympathize with him. Ra’s lived for centuries and saw the worst of what humanity has to offer. Wars, attempted genocide, the extinction of plants and animals is enough for anyone to go crazy. It doesn’t help that the Lazarus Pit is making him crazier with every resurrection. Even if Ra’s is wrong, the audience would love to see his rise to power to the leader of the League of Assassins.
