Wonder Woman 2: 6 other actresses we’d like to see play Cheetah

1. Gemma Arterton

Gemma Arterton has the ability to embody every aspect of both Cheetah and Dr. Minerva. Her resume highlights a number of roles that show off her skills. Like so many others on the list, her ability to play numerous characters makes her ideal for the role. At just 32, the London born actress has over 40 films under her belt and shows no signs of slowing down. A role in the DCEU would be great and as Cheetah, it would be fantastic.

The one time Bond girl is ready for a role in the comic book cinema and Cheetah is a role made for her talents. Though she doesn’t stand at 5’9+ she’s more than capable of being intimidating and has a resume that proves as much. Some of her roles saw her being tortured like in the Disappearance of Alice Creed, a guiding spirit in Clash of the Titans, a bad ass witch hunter in Hansel and Gretel, and a vampire in Byzantium.  Arterton is primed to play the role of an archeologist jealous of Wonder Woman who uses her lover to poison the princess as she escapes and hides in Africa. If asked to play the role of a warrior cursed with the spirit of the Cheetah then Arterton would undoubtedly capture the depths of a character who struggles with who she is.

So far there’s only one named rumored to play the role of Cheetah, and while Wiig is talented we can’t help but think that it’s a bit odd for a comic book movie. All of these actresses possess the ability to really capture what fans believe Cheetah to be. Another name is Emily Blunt who is primed and ready to take on a role in comic book cinema.

However, Patty Jenkins took Gal Gadot, who was crushed when her name was announced as Wonder Woman and assisted in Gadot leaving a lasting impression on fans. We have faith that whoever stands across from Gadot will be just as great as she was in part,  thanks to Patty Jenkins.
