The Flash season 4: Ranking its 10 best moments so far
8. Ralph impersonates DeVoe and gets Barry released from prison
Though Ralph Dibny looks great in his new costume, his most heroic moment did not entail wearing a mask. Upon discovering that he could stretch his cells to literally impersonate somebody else, Ralph realized that he was the answer to all of Team Flash’s problems.
After DeVoe faked his own death and framed Barry for his murder, the Scarlet Speedster was imprisoned in Iron Heights. While he could have escaped at any time, the heroic Barry knew that if he was going to defeat DeVoe, he had to do it by the law. And thus, he remained behind bars.
But thankfully, Ralph was able to out-think DeVoe and used his abilities to impersonate The Thinker himself. Turning up at Barry’s appeal as DeVoe, Ralph shocked Iris, the Judge and caught Marlize DeVoe completely off-guard. The sudden “resurrection” was more than enough to convince the Judge to order Barry’s release from prison.
While DeVoe himself didn’t seem too worried about the unforeseen swerve, this was a major step forward for Team Flash. And after spending all season being two steps behind him, it was nice to finally see them get a major win like this.
