5. Barry and Iris’s wedding

It goes without saying that only a major event could bring the heroes of the Arrowverse together. And this year, that major event was Barry and Iris’s wedding. After four years of falling for each other, the king and queen of the Arrowverse were finally tying the knot. The long-awaited wedding brought Team Arrow, the Legends and Supergirl to Central City to witness it.

While things didn’t go as planned (due to the invasion of Nazis), that didn’t take away from this incredible moment. Seeing Iris make her way down the aisle as Barry tearfully watched was a beautifully satisfying moment for West-Allen fans. Moreover, the fact that Supergirl herself, Kara Danvers, sang “Runnin’ Home To You” made the moment even more special.

Even though the wedding was interrupted by the Earth-Xers, the scene continued to amaze. What came next was an awesome battle between the heroes and the Nazis. Sara and Alex double-teamed Prometheus while Barry and Wally tried to save everyone in the church. Cisco, Caitlin, Heat Wave and Firestorm all battled the Nazis as Oliver and Kara took on their Earth-X doppelgängers. A sheer spectacle, this was one of the Arrowverse’s best-choreographed fights ever.

Barry and Iris did get married at the end of the crossover. While the ceremony was sweet, a certain interruption (although it was sweet too) took away from grandness that these two characters deserved. Their first wedding in the church was the spectacle they deserved, but it wasn’t to be. However, both weddings were beautiful and strong moments of the season.
