Guardians of the Galaxy: How does it impact Avengers: Infinity War?

What didn’t work
It’s difficult to find things that didn’t work in this movie. Guardians of the Galaxy was as close to a perfect action movie as you’re going to get. If I had to point a finger at anything, it’s there was a lot going on.
Ronan was one of the best eight villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It wasn’t him that made it bad, though, as there were multiple villains with different issues. Ronan getting the Power Stone and trying to destroy Xandar; Thanos wanting the stone; Gamora’s sister Nebula (played by Karen Gillan) trading sides against her father; the issues with Star-Lord and the Ravagers. Individually, these were all great parts of the movie, but it left us wanting more.
As a fan of the comic books, I wasn’t excited with how they handled the Nova Corps. The Nova Corps aren’t a bunch of beings in ships. They have powers that allow them to defend the galaxy. It would have been cool to see Richard Rider and other Nova members flying through the air. Instead, we were given a bunch of ships forming together to make a barrier net. While it looked cool and made a for a great scene, it wasn’t the Nova Corps from the comics. The scene was great, but it could have been even better with actual people holding back Ronan’s ship.
