There are a number of heroes set to appear in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster, Avengers: Infinity War, but who are the strongest?

As Avengers: Infinity War fast approaches fans are undoubtedly waiting impatiently to see their favorite heroes square against their greatest foe, Thanos. The intergalactic being is in search of the Infinity Stones so that he could rule the universe with an iron fist.

There’s no doubt that Thanos will do any and everything to get those stones including killing some of our favorite heroes. However, he’ll be forced to duel with some absolutely powerful heroes. While powerful characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Panther, Bucky, and Captain America will hold it down on the battlefield, the heroes on this list are in a league of their own. These heroes can do things no other hero can making them uniquely gifted.

Here are the six strongest heroes in Avengers: Infinity War.

6. Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is just a human, and while the other heroes on here have more physical strength, none can match what he does from a mystical perspective. The once world-renown physician, Dr. Stephen Strange got into a terrible accident that caused him to need reconstructive surgery on his hands. Unfortunately, there was not a doctor in the world who could fix his nerve damage, thus his career falls by the wayside.

With just a glimmer of hope in the form of the Ancient One, Strange sought after this person who he hoped could restore his hands back to normal. As fate has it, Strange would, in fact, find this miracle worker, however, he would be in for a transformative experience. Instead of the Ancient One healing the former surgeon, the Ancient One trained Strange in the Mystic Arts. Strange would become the ultimate welder of the arts which earned him the name Sorcerer Supreme.

In the MCU the role is played by the immensely talented Benedict Cumberbatch who made his MCU debuts in 2016’s Doctor Strange. The powerful sorcerer has been called upon throughout Marvel Comics to help defeat villains like Juggernaut who was the inhibitor of the mystical entity Cyttorak. In the MCU Strange also assisted Thor in the movie Thor: Ragnarok and will be one of the reasons Thanos will not rule the galaxy in Avengers: Infinity War.
