9. Wonder Girl

The mantle of Wonder Girl has been taken by two different heroines not named Diana. The first and most famous Wonder Girl was Donna Troy. Donna became Wonder Woman’s sidekick after she was rescued by the leader of the Amazons during a house fire. Donna’s parents died in the fire and Diana took Donna to the island of Themyscira. While there, Donna would be exposed to the Purple Way which granted her superhuman abilities, similar to that of Wonder Woman. Although she was trained by Wonder Woman and occasionally fought alongside her mentor, her most notable adventures featured her as a Teen Titan.

Cassie Sasmark was born to archeologist named Helena Sasmark and her, unbeknownst to her, was Zeus. Cassie would gain her powers after convincing Zeus to do so, though the catch was that her mother Helena could disable her abilities whenever she saw fit. After Donna Troy outgrew the title of Wonder Girl, Cassie would take the mantle. Like her predecessor, she would be trained in the ways of the Amazon, by Artemis. Cassie would accompany Wonder Woman on a few missions but also like her predecessor she would go on to join the Teen Titans led by Tim Drake.
