5. Kid Flash

Kid Flash is easily one of the most popular comic book sidekicks of all time. Like the next few heroes on our list, there were a couple of heroes who went by the name of Kid Flash. There’s Bart Allen, the grandson of Barry and Iris who hails from the 30th century. He organically went by the name Impulse before being given the name Kid Flash after serving as the sidekick to the original, Wally West. Wally was an emotionally neglected teen from Blue Valley. He wasn’t close to any of his relatives except for his Aunt Iris West who lived in Central City.

One summer his aunt Iris invited him to live with her and her fiancé Barry Allen. With the hopes of meeting his ideal, the Flash, Wally agreed. Initially, he thought Barry was a bit lame, that was until he offered to introduce him to the Flash. As promised, Wally got his wish and met the Flash. Even more than expected, one night while in Barry’s lab he too would be struck by a lightning bolt that mixed with chemicals granted him the powers of the Speed Force. Barry revealed himself to be Flash and trained young Wally who took up the mantle Kid Flash. Wally spent years as Flash’s sidekick before joining the Teen Titans. Wally would even dawn the title ‘The Fastest Man Alive’ after the death of Barry.

Wally has been featured on Teen Titans, Young Justice, and Flash the TV series as portrayed by Aussie actor, Keiynan Lonsdale.
