Ant-Man makes a big impression in his solo-debut, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe…

Next up in our series of retrospective reviews is a film featuring a hero with the ability to shrink and communicate with ants. Yes, it’s time to look back on Ant-Man and see just how it impacts on Infinity War.

Ant-Man tells the story of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) who, after a chance meeting with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), changes from a common criminal into a superhero. When we first meet Lang, he’s just getting out of prison and seeking to get his life back on track. After initial attempts to gain employment are short-lived, he decides to join his crew and commit a burglary.

He goes to visit his daughter, Cassie, shortly after his release and is told by both his ex-wife and her fiance that he needs to sort his life out. Being a family man with a good heart, Lang agrees to try and provide for his daughter. After initial attempts to gain employment are short-lived, he decides to join his crew and commit a burglary.

Little does he know that the house they’re breaking into belongs to Hank Pym and it’s here that Lang’s life changes for the better. Discovering a safe, he finds what he believes to be some motorcycling gear. In actuality, it’s so much more — the Ant-Man suit.

So, let’s have a look at what worked…
