2. Avengers: Disassembled
It was known as the darkest day in Avengers history. Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) found out that she gave birth to twins that she conjured. This drove her crazy and Wanda lost control of her reality-altering powers. She inadvertently ended up killing Hawkeye, Vision, Jack of Hearts, Scott Lang, and severely injured more of her teammates. After Wanda was taken down by Dr. Strange, the Avengers disbanded.
Calling the fourth movie Avengers Disassembled leaves a lot of things open for the future of the franchise. First off, the Avengers have always changed their roster in the comic book. It was only a matter of time before the roster we’ve seen for the six years changes. Captain America, Iron Man, and the rest of the crew were eventually going to move on. Just because the team disassembles doesn’t mean the Avengers franchise would be done for good.
In the comics, when the Avengers disbanded the New Avengers series was created. Luke Cage, Spider-Man, Jessica Drew (a.k.a. The Skrull queen), Wolverine, Sentry, Iron Man, and Captain America became the New Avengers. Using the title Avengers Disassembled can sound ominous, but it could also nod towards the future. The next phase could lead to a new roster being introduced and the next Avengers movie being called Marvel’s New Avengers.
