Finally, after years of waiting,  the anticipation of having the X-Men clash with the Avengers will someday come to fruition. Even more exciting is the prospect of having Wolverine clash with some of our favorite Marvel heroes like Hulk, Spider-man, or the Thing.

Avengers: Infinity War is coming fast, maybe not fast enough, but it will be the begging and end of an era. With this pending Fox transaction, the speculation regarding the X-Men has been a heavy topic as it pertains to how they fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, we won’t know any of that until the Disney’s purchase is complete, but that won’t stop us from speculation.

One the most beloved characters of the X-Men is Wolverine, and in a lot of ways his live-action depiction, played wonderfully by Hugh Jackman — has made him even more famous. Naturally, after Logan fans wondered what was next, especially with Bryan Singer rebooting the franchise with X-Men: Apocalypse. We knew Hugh Jackman wasn’t returning after Logan, though we held out hope once the rumors began about the X-Men joining the MCU.

Unfortunately, Jackson didn’t budge, at least not yet. There’s no X-Men without Wolverine, so of course the next question was who would replace him? Jackman had a plan about the continuation of the character he first started playing in 2000… during an interview with Variety, Jackman he mentioned one name who he thought would make a great replacement.

"“I think Tom Hardy would be a great Wolverine.”"

Of course as of now, Hardy is playing another bad ass Marvel character, Venom so the chances of him being Wolverine aren’t looking too good… Then again, who knows? Hardy is an excellent choice, as he’s one of those actors who as the look, notability and of course a resume that includes transformative performances in Warrior Mad Max: Fury Road, and of course The Dark Knight Rises to name a few. However, an actor’s resume doesn’t always lend itself to how well he can play a particular hero (or villain) but it does help fans with being able to connect the dots. And then there’s the “look”, something that is often overstated but it helps us get behind an from a visual perspective. So here’s the seven actors we think would make a great Wolverine in the MCU.
